Press Release

New York – Country Songwriter and recording artist J.Antonette is excited to release her new 5 song EP entitled, “Paper Trail,” which exclusively premiered on Bug Country Radio.  Antonette celebrated the release with a jam packed show at Rockwood Music Hall last night. Her “New York meets Nashville” style sound offers passionate, heartfelt lyrics with an upbeat energetic drive.

Her first single from this EP “Hello, Goodbye,” arrived this past November, and is creating quite a buzz among music peers, country fans and across the airwaves. It’s already been featured on radio stations such as Nash FM, WUTQ, Kiss FM, and Bug Country. Antonette is set to embark on her first radio/mall tour next week.

As a former pop singer/ songwriter, J.Antonette has toured as a background singer for Grammy Award winner Melissa Etheridge, Jerry Wonda’s Platinum Sound Band and Gary Douglas in support of Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. Throughout her journey, she was led back to her Americana country roots. As a New York native, J.Antonette created a movement called “#NYDoesCountry” hoping to rally support around fellow New York based musicians and country music lovers. The point of “#NYDoesCountry” is to battle the stereotype that country music can only come from the south or western areas.

“There is no "one type" of country music, or way to express it. While working on “Paper Trail,” I encountered these misconceptions surrounding the expectations of what country singers should look and sound like. There was this idea that you had to be from Nashville or Texas, wear daisy duke, flannel, or cowboy boots and have/sing with a southern drawl. Although I love those things, it’s not true. I want to change the perception of country. There is no one type of anything. We are all free to love, sing or be whatever we want. After all, "country" music is for the whole country and don't we all deserve to have our own "American Dream's"? – J.Antonette
